We visited 2 different readings that were on Friday nights. One was a new reading that was held at Big Apple Bagles in Cedar Hill it is called My Stle Grooves. It had live musians playing behind the poets and also featured singers and scat jazz type stuff. The Other was the Irving Poetry Society. They are a group that has been around for a couplke of years now, and has Metta Jon as one of it's founding members. There have been several poets that have frequented both the IPS and the OCCP, so they are kind of like our sister group, although the feel and identity of both the groups is very different. They have 2 monthly meetings one at a Barnes and Noble, and One at Jaycee Park in Irving the photos below are from the Park.
